Awesome, really good seeing city counsels getting involved in the projects, this must be due the recent positive attitude and awareness gov has towards broadband. I think I should go into network infraco deployment, I see such a boom coming, if not already.

Why not just build in a bunch of large ducts anyways and then rent it out at a decent rate to
whom whenever wants to run new cables, upgrade later etc. instead of digging them up again later

I have a similar suggestion: Why not build the ducts, and charge a once off cable laying fee of say 25 to 33% of the cost of the duct. Then you only need 3 or 4 cables to have paid the cost, and there is no recurring fee for the operators, as well as no more digging!
