Please address the concerns raised from Oct 01 onward regarding specific stipulations within the contract.

The one that gets me the most is:
5.2. The Subscriber acknowledges that installation is subject to the prior payment of the construction fee corresponding to the Service chosen by the Subscriber.

I remember reading that you would only start paying once you have been connected. Clearly 5.2. is a contradiction. Following 5.2. a subscriber to the 5mbps free internet package can pay R300pm for 12months only for construction without services rendered and be connected after 12 months of payment.
I believe the contract also makes you liable for payment if you cancel hence breach of contract.

On another note, the service is new which makes it unlikely that it will be congested and cause slow speeds but what happens down the road? I think an acceptable minimum speed should be stated.

What do you think "an acceptable minimum speed" should be? It can't be higher than the subscribed speed divided by the contention ratio. You can realistically expect to have speeds as low as that at times but not much lower taking into account quality issues but not all the time. Incidentally there's no contention specified in the contract where it should be.

Minimum same as what Telkom says, one tenth = 500kbps

Give them a chance buddy. There was allot of concerns with the contract so they most probably revising it with their lawyers.
Also there was allot of people that signed and sent back the contracts, so they must filter through those to see which ones is closer to where they want to start, they also stated that trenching is delayed due to the municipality dragging their feet.

I am just as excited as you are, but they have allot on their plates now, so lets give them at least this week to sort it out, next week we can be on their case again asking why it is dragging on so long =P
 
Anybody know what trenching is taking place on PDP? I see it makes a 90deg bend from the KFC and goes underneath the road, leading to Ext 22.

Munisipal works is the response.
Seems to be electrical.

We'll have to wait for 123Net to make an announcement. I don't think they'll just secretly start. Many people are watching anxiously.
 
It is impossible to say whether or not he tried, but what we can say is that he was unsuccessful.

No problem. Thanks for the reply.
In the meantime are you guys going on with your plans for those who signed or is everything on hold till Kalin returns or is available?
 
Ok just in case you dont have enough employees to fascilitate this fibre Ive posted on all the community pages that matter in our area, if you can private message me the name or names of the people we need to speak to at the municipality I can maybe assist in this regard as well
