I really don't like Twitter.
HahahahaTwitter is basically the pornhub of Facebook anyway.
Anybody know of the Infinity Fibre dudes advertising in the banner on this page?
Think a mod should change the the title of this thread to "Who will bring fibre to Secunda". After looking at their facebook and twitter pages, it seems to me that 123net is dead.
Since I'm tired of waiting .... show DFA some love and spark some interest in the FTTH community in the TEKS area;
Open your browser, navigate to http://www.dfafrica.co.za/contact/ and complete your details and select the "fiber to the home" option to show your interest. Just type in a short message requesting fiber to home in Secunda and surrounding areas.
That's it!
If we can get DFA to be the fibre provider. and lay the fibre to our homes, Other ISPs can dish it out for the service.
I would most certainly pay DFA to install the fibre equipment on a once off if need be.
If it's open access fibre then ISPs like openweb, Mweb, Webafrica, etc. can offer packages for either capped or uncapped. providing they're willing to make more money from the boatload of people in Secunda that are tired of being forcefed 20 year old copper lines with high snr and slow speeds at telkom's rediculous pricing.
I've said this before but I'll say it again: do a survey, gather data and send out an RFP to get the best deal. Relying on one provider is never a good strategy.
Hi. Last night at work I was applying to all the fiber to the home ISP's,etc I could find. Mweb called me and suggested we start a petition or something along those lines to try get Telekom to start in our area. Has anyone started a list or petition? I also tried light speed. They said it is possible to connect me but they will have to be able to get R11347 along the fiber route to my house per month. That would be Nelson Mandela drive and Voortrekker Street. Does any one know how many people in secunda area want fiber?
