I am looking for converters to use fibre optic cable to connect computers on a network.

single mode fibers with single mode media converters... Cisco fiber interfaces... Do some research?

My question is where are you getting 80km of dark fiber from legally?? Oh well...

Isn't dark fiber for speed more than distance? It's like the Ferarri of fiber standards

:D Good chuckle ... no dark fibre is just unused fibre, as in no light going through so its dark.

Its an industry term for describing fibre capacity in its rawest form so that you may choose what technology/protocols you wish to use to 'light it up'.

LOL, thanks for that.I was under the impression it was a standard.

So what it essentialy is is excess put in place for expansion.
