Hi. Can anybody point me in the right direction in terms of having DStv cancelled and possibly using a fibre connection (which I don't have as yet but do have the availability) to replace such?

Phone multichoice. Cancel subscription. Phone ISP (apparently CoolIdeas is highly recommended. Request fibre installation.

I am not sure what you are asking.
Normally we compare fibre vs adsl vs lte etc (internet access)
Dstv vs netflix/youtube etc (content)

At the cost of 100mbps if you can afford it go for it. I'm using Vanilla which goes for R1053 per month

4 Netflix feeds - 1 x UHD, 3 x FHD and no issues.

IOW... to compare streaming DSTV via fibre (if possible) versus paying DSTV for having it on the box
You need access to someone's DSTV account to stream, so you'll have to sort that hurdle first. Then it's a simple equation of comparing the cost of fibre to DSTV subs (hint: fibre is cheaper)

Are you asking how to cancel DSTV, or are you asking how to distribute the DSTV signal from the dish over a fibre network?

How to view dstv via fibre/internet. I possibly have a dstv username and password for the access part

Basically asking about the line speed required to stream dstv and whatever.
Currently have ADSL at home but only 2mb/s line. Fibre is in the area and installed by Vumatel to a box against the wall outside already so was thinking of upgrading internet and reducing dstv subs if it can be done

As mentioned above, you'll need DSTV premium for full access to DSTV now, but if you have that, a decent media box and fibre will do.

Vumatel only offers 4/1 and 20 Mbps packages on the low end, so you'll need to order a 20 Mbps package to handle DSTV. Netflix averages 3.5 Mbps for an HD stream, Showmax and DSTV are a tad higher - up to 9 Mbps for an HD stream.

But when you cancel, please do it on a cellphone and record it and tell them you want to cancel about 5-10 times, Just keep on repeating, then upload to youtube that should be fun..I wonder if they will even get the point...

I don't see why you want to do what you want to do. You're still going to need Dstv for it and will need at least 10Mbps fibre for a good experience. That alone usually costs the same or more than Dstv premium. As I said in the other thread picking fibre over Dstv is for people that need it in any case.

If he's happy with what he's using, which he clearly is, he shouldn't be seeking anything.

Can't stream dstv without a subscription. Maybe you want an Android Box with XBMC?
