South Africa's largest private security company suffers data breach

Fidelity Services Group, South Africa’s largest private security company, confirmed it was the victim of a cyberattack after the extortion group Ransomhouse published data it had stolen from the company.

Ransomhouse listed Fidelity on its dark web leak site on 12 July 2026 and has subsequently leaked data exfiltrated from Fidelity’s systems as proof of the attack.

Also one of the biggest collectors of personal information, via ID and Driver license scanning, in the Security industry, another very good reason to remove the right to scan ID and Drivers licenses from the security companies. No private concern has the right to do anything more than record your identity and physically compare it against your credentials, they have no right to record or store any data,
