Fidelity using drones to fight crime

Even so it's an invasion of privacy. It's going to eventually be something like good lord it's the 4th drone over pass of the day.

And those drones will no doubt have sophisticated high res extreme zoom cameras on them so all the minutiae of you and your backyard activities will be recorded and disseminated with who exactly?
You actually don't have a right to privacy in your back yard.
Friend of mine had a high rise apartment building go up next to his house. He and the wife likes to tan in their birthday suit. They were told to stop as it amounted to indecent exposure for the people in the building.
Might be a Cape Town only thing though.

How do the cops find perps with choppers?

Mr/Mrs Mac are naked in the yard? Why? Their fault.
Illegal stuff in your yard? Your fault.
Besides, why would fidelity be interested in the city building regs? I think your imagination is a bit fertile lol

A chopper circling your house looking for a perp may be a once in a decade event if that.

Read my post again regarding them filming and who potentially may have access to the footage but it appears you are trolling because your logic makes no sense.

That is a different scenario and unfortunate for the home owners but in a standalone house with no overlooking neighbours you should have an expectation of your privacy not being randomly invaded whenever a 3rd party decides they would like to have a look around your property for potential security concerns.

This is edging towards a dystopian future where the drones are always monitoring you wherever you are, tracking you via your Covid chip  :whistling:

For real? That's ridiculous.

Maybe they should have objected to a high rise going up next to them to begin with. Sounds like poor town planning or poor implentation of the town planning scheme.

I've seen it happen a lot after all the building inspectors went AWOL during lock down. Seems like any a-hole with a property big enough feels the need to put up blocks of flats in their back yards.

Cape Town produces a yearly photobase of the entire city. Every erf's boundary can be superimposed and building changes are detected and acted on. It's publicly accessible on the internet and works much like Google Earth with layers for information like erf numbers, road names etc easily selectable. You can easily see which neighbours are dodgy.

Despite the privacy views, I think this shoud have been done sooner.

It is much quieter than a chopper, and more equipped to sniff out a criminal hiding in the bush, because it can get closer, and while it can be used for patrols and searches, deployability is much faster, opposed to getting a chopper to fly a distance from the airport, is very impractical.

General costs are down as well. Faster for cheaper. I see this as an absolute win.

I don’t think you’re that special ;)

Whatever the case may be. My yard, my business. Maybe the lady of the house is in a bikini at her pool and doesn't want the fidelity operators seeing her. Maybe she doesn't want them perving at her 14 year old daughter. Maybe... the possibilities are endless. Point is, you should have privacy in your own property if you so desire.
Anyway, at this point you're probably just trolling. Or you're implausibly stupid. I'm done.
Yes make more dumb laws that can help criminals and curb surveillance it’s just what we need.

tryst me, the person tied up, robbed and/or raped can’t give a flying a banana about your ”privacy” if a drone would have helped identify the criminals early.

This would be an excellent use for in "Fire Season" to quickly scan area where theres smoke, if retarteds were not used to start fires.

The added advantage of a drone is it can hover above the miscreant to pinpoint his position for arrest.
