Why am I so bad, what am I doing wrong?
I got beat by Kaizer Chiefs with United!!
Its on Semi Pro mode... one above easy mode.
 
Do you know how to use through passes? Pass using the top button to put your striker into space.

Don't use the cross as your only form of attack its actually difficult. Try through passes for your striker through the middle.

I cant get the shooting on target. Press and hold the O button and it either goes straight over the bar or straight to goal keeper.

Im playing in practise mode now:o

Try double click but hold down the first time for a split second. And while you are doing that move left or right so that it does not go straight at the keeper.

What's great about Fifa 10, among a couple of other things, is how they've improved the keeper AI.

you actually have to challenge the keeper these days... the difference between scoring/missing/being saved is literally a couple of split seconds holding Circle.

Also, make sure you aren't holding the Run button while shooting - makes it near impossible.

Also don't double tap circle unless the ball is in the air and you want to header it.
 
Dude fifa 2010 is such a crap game, i waste 700 bucks on this BS.

What i hate about single player fifa 2010 is the computer tackles you in an instant, you need to get rid of the ball instantly or you get nailed.

The through ball is farkin pathetic, worst fifa i have played in a very long time, it is much better online though.

Shooting is something you learn nobody can really tell you about that.

For me though that Damn through ball not working destroyed the game for me.

I do not know how fifa go backwards from fifa 2009. That game is just legend.

Shooting in practice mode and in the game are 2 very different things in my opinion.

hope my friend borrows me Fifa...i cant say its crap until ive played it. just dont think it can compete with Pes10 this year.
 
Yea i will buy PES10 later this year.

For anyone though wanting to buy fifa 2010 play the demo first because it is the worst fifa game i have ever played.
 
Hahah i gave to my buddie for his birthday this weekend.

Not the best present but yea got rid of it at least :D and he better get me something expensive :p
 
In beginning before i actually got into the game and found that the through ball sucks, passing is horrible and the AI takes the ball off you in a split second even with tricks.

Online is better because humans cannot tackle in an instant so you can dodge tackles online.

It was cool when i first got it but frustration does creep in when you figure out how to make the moves, then you see the through ball is a bunch of crap.

I stopped single player because i did not want to purchase a new controller :D. Online is far better throughball still sucks compared to fifa 2009.
 
Througball works fine for me. Maybe the players your playing against are very good at predicting your through ball's. Try to mix it up a bit.

This is by far the best Fifa i've played. Im online till 12 almost every night! Scoring is definitely more difficult though but thats because of the improved goalkeepers
 
Thru balls are a bit more realistic, u need to be a bit more clever or a football player. U need to wait and find the gap, wait for yr player to move - not like previously where it worked. Defenders also can interecept. So i beleive it is better.
What i dont like though is that it seems Thru ball does not have a power meter anymore.
Shooting requires some practice.
But i agree with Killadoob, the opposition seem quicker at tackling whereas the reverse is much more difficult.
Also when the opposition tackles u (say they just get a touch on the ball but u can still get to it), u seem to always fall over.
The reverse, the opposition almost never falls down and always get to the ball.
And the game cheats, i seem to always put in good tackles but no fouls (reverse again is not true).
Finally, there is now a shoulder tackle which from my above point u can figure out.
I love though the new dribbling technique (L2+R2) - very realistic and more common in games (u hardly ever see tricks (L2) in prof. games).
 
I used to love FIFA - for one reason... I never tried PES...

Wow, the worst thing about FIFA single player is that its so easy its not even worth playing. The legendary level is hardly even a challenge. Beating Barca in the final of champions league like 3-0 with 2min a half is ridiculous. Also the transfer fees on FIFA are not very well thought out. You can buy a team all above 90 by the second season (where is the fun in that?).

I did find the thru balls and keeper AI to be better than before, but that is over shadowed by the opposing defenders bein a bunch of idiots - somebody like Terry gets dominated in the air by Carlos Vela (me with Vela) and Vidic gets turned like mad by RVP (okay maybe that is sorta realistic :-p). Lastly, the net on FIFA is atrocious! Wtf is going on with that thing? when the ball hits the FIFA net , it just sucks it in like you just kicked a ball into a wind sock or something!

Now playing PES, you can't just manhandle defenders, and defenders actually read throuh balls, its amazing! The way in which players control the ball, shoot, and pass is beyond anything which FIFA will reach in the next 5 years. I play on the second hardest level on PES now and it is genuinely a challenge to score. Also, the way the net reacts to being pelted by a van persie shot from range is amazing - congrats Konami!

Overall: FIFA = for kids who can't play soccer and just wanna build a team of their favourite player and win 6-0 every match.
PES = a real soccer game - for those who love the game.
(you get over the licensing issues very quickly)
