Electronic Arts announced today that the football engine that drives the award-winning EA SPORTSTM FIFA gameplay on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system has arrived for FIFA 11 PC. Two years in development, the console game engine has been optimised for PC, delivering next generation console-quality gameplay, game modes and visuals to FIFA 11 PC.

"The EA SPORTS FIFA franchise is committed to investing and innovating for PC and this is a watershed moment," said Executive Producer Kaz Makita. "We are delivering to FIFA 11 PC the high quality gameplay, innovative game modes and stunning graphics that have made FIFA the highest rated sports game on the PlayStation3 and Xbox 360 and winner of over 50 sports game of the year awards."

The physics-based, data-driven technology behind the EA SPORTS football engine has been optimised for PC to deliver true freedom on the pitch with individuality of player control and movement, sophisticated ball touches, and physical interaction between players. FIFA 11 PC will feature the market-leading true 360° dribbling system that gives players precise control of the ball and next generation animation technology that delivers Skilled Dribbling, enabling skilled dribblers to face defenders and use highly responsive lateral dribbling to skip past them. Plus, Physical Play has been improved using collision sharing, creating a varied, less predictable, and extended fight for possession between players.

FIFA 11 PC features and game modes will be revealed in the coming weeks and months.

FIFA 11 will be available in stores Oct. 1 across Europe and Asia for the PlayStation®3, Xbox 360®, WiiTM, PC, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, Nintendo DSTM, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system and mobile. The game has not yet been rated.

I used to think so too until I played the Xbox FIFA... though it doesn't beat PES hands down it is not the FIFA I couldn't stand in the earlier years. However with the new things that PES has planned - it is going to be lightyears ahead of FIFA once again. I really reckon that FIFA has only just caught up to PES with the 2010 installment and they are now going to be ripped apart again...

I'm a big PES fan, have been since PES4. Recently, have been checking out FIFA as well and I have to say both games are very different and both have good things and bad things about them.

Having seen screens and early videos for both releases, I am very excited as both releases seem to be raising the bar once again. Make no mistake though, although my favourite and preferred choice is PES, FIFA has now caught up and is almost on par. PES still delivers a better multi-player game like a 3 vs 3 and the action is awesome. FIFA however, has improved a lot on their multi-player enjoyment and their online mode although still requiring some work is far superior to PES.

Can't wait!

What really grated me in PES was the licensing issue :D

Hated seeing Ruud von Nistelroom!

Until PES fixes its licensing problems and the Master League i'll be happy getting FIFA over PES anytime.

PES license issues were never a problem for to be honest... I always downloaded a patch and that was that. The master league was fun in the earlier versions and I don't see why people asked for more depth. If you want to manage a team - play footy manager, klaar.

Variety of games within the game makes it more exciting ;)

Nah - I alwasy found manager modes to be quite tedious in footy sims. When I play PES, I wanna play the game itself (ie control players and do schit) otherwise it's footy manager for me. I just hate having to play all the games with the same team all the time.
Then again, playing a footy game without a couple of buddies in tow is also boring for me so...

I love it... it's fun to swop between games now and then
