We already tried something similiar in qualifying and dind't end well.. On a serious note we actually have a real shot against Canada if the lads believe and play well again no reason we can't progress further,

I still feel we could have done better in many ways. First game with many psychological factors I guess.

I think all teams through to the next round have reached the round of 32 for the first time. It used to be called the round of 16.

Its certainly a lot closer than SA is and the stadium will be mostly Canadian. We will be the underdog again.

Also we are due to commit genocide on the 30th so I don't think there will anyone else supporting us.
This is also a really big moment for Canada as the co-host, also their first time out the group... so it's going to be good.
 
Kind of takes the gloss off all the teams going through in 3rd, because under the old format they'd all be going home now.

All true, but we were also awful.

5 defenders, 2 defensive midfielders and then two strikers left on an island because the one attack minded midfielder sat deep as well. There was no linkup between the 3 midfielders and the forwards, and if you are going to play with 5 at the back then your wingbacks need to get forward as an attacking outlet and create chances, which they didn't do.

It was a side that went out to do one thing; not lose. And it was an abysmal failure.

Fortunately Broos acknowledged that he got it tactically wrong and changed things up. The Czechia result gave them some confidence and here we are now.

We were poor in the first game but that was a lot of pressure for the team, first time playing at the elite level since 2010, while the players should be able to handle it they're still human. I can still remember when I got called up to the provincial team at school my heart was beating out of my chest and I was piss poor. The real test is adjusting the game plan and moving on from those first game jitters, well done to the coach and team for making it this far.
 
I think the Canadians may show caution. I don't think they will take us lightly, the boys have showed up, now all they need to do is stay.
