Fifa World Cup 2026

I have huge respect for Argentinian rugby players and their supporters (mostly). Soccer? Not so much.
Now I think on it they've always been asses. I was watching archive of an old game of theirs against Nigeria and Maradona was there diving and cheating. Nigeria got robbed in that game I think it was a quarters

Glad it's finally over, and that we can go back to normal football: no more mid half ad breaks, no more HT shows - and matches that are played at regular times.
Normal football: Did you see this club paid millions of € for some guy.
What happened in the match? Don't know.

And 21:00 is a regular time.

I mean, the Hand of God. Maradona openly acknowledged that he scored a goal off of a deliberate handball.

One of the most infamous moments in football involves a cheating Argentinian.

Not that I was a Spain supporter, but thank the gods that Argentina lost. Bunch of complete tossers.

Pity Spain didn't bury more of those chances. Could have been a complete humiliation for the thugs.

Matt Damon tells the story of him going with his wife's uncle to a football game in Argentina. The spectators are so barbaric that they only sit at opposing ends of the field to avoid objects being thrown at each other with the middle stadium seating area being empty and a sort of "demilitarised zone". And the opposing sides' supporters also leave at intervals to avoid clashes outside. This explains why the national team played like they did.

Might not be quite to that level but stadium segregation of fans is pretty much the norm in England...

Interesting point from one fan group about this world cup...

The head of fan group Football Supporters Europe says a lack of segregation at the World Cup is "a risk", and shows Fifa has "lost control of their ticketing".

Don't think I heard of even one instance of fan trouble at the stadiums, seems that football fans can get along even if they are all mixed together.
