Fifth Gear

I think the reason why I like Fifth Gear, and any other car show for that matter, is because when I started to watch Top Gear it was even more boring that Fifth Gear is now - and I liked it. It was about cars, factual yet funny.

Let's have a look at the first time Clarkson was on Top Gear :

So my point is, if you watched old Top Gear, a real car show, then you have a much wider view of what motoring shows are about.
 
Just watched S26E01... bliksems boring even by 5th gear standards. Hope the rest of the season is better...

Perhaps... But you know he was the backup Stig on Top Gear? He got quite a few stars in the reasonable priced cars around the track? Maybe I am just expecting too much? I watched the last release of "old fifth gear" from their youtube channel (S05E08) after the new episode and found that to be more entertaining. Looking forward to S26E02.
 
I just watched the last episode of season 26 and really enjoyed it. Becca is a great foil for Tiff, they have chemistry. More than once it looked like she wanted to kiss him. I loved the DB Speedback, beautiful car. I can imagine that guy from Suits buying one, it's right up his alley.
 
They had too much focus on the plane, rest of the show was OK. Hopefully the next one will be better.
 
Seems to be a stuff up with either those catching the new episodes or the naming of the episodes - just downloaded Episode 4 of Season 26. Sounds like it's gonna be a good one.

S26E01, 2, 3 & 4 are available.

2 is a South African special.
 
SA special was awesome. Just watched it with the wife and she enjoyed it more than Top Gear. Will check S03 tomorrow. S04 was good, better than S01.

I'm quite impressed with these guys, they have come a long way. 26 seasons of Fifth gear and a good couple of old Top Gear seasons - still they make good motoring TV.

Quite eager to see what Clarkson comes up with next.

Sorry for not replying sooner, was out yesterday. Tiff took the new Lambo around the Gordon's Bay to Rooi Else coast. He also drove some old made in SA cars at the FMM. Tiff and Vicky drove some SA made armoured vehicles in Pretoria and Tiff drove the Dakar Hilux rally car. The production was really good, close to topgear standards.

Speaking of this, why did nobody tell Tiff what a 4x4 is? I had to laugh at his references to the 'Mbombe 4'.
 
For those that follow the Youtube channel S05E07 features a dude that was so good at WRC on his PS3 he tried his hand at the real deal, with impressive results... That is S05E07 air date on 10 May 2004. Also TBT fearures Johnny in the Audi R8 V10.

Edit : S26E03 - winner! Features a VX220/Opel Speedster. A car beyond anything else. Excellent. Van with modified Calibra C20LET engine.... Heaven. It kills a VAG Bentley.
