So was looking around to see what options there were because google drive is pricey once you want a decent amount of paid storage but they do offer local servers which is nice.

uptobox has a special on premium account 5 Euro ~R70 for a 365day premium account. I bought it x 2 with bitcoin from my luno wallet for ~R140 for a 2 year premium account which I think is not a bad deal actually.

200GB max file size limit.
Unlimited bandwidth
Unlimited storage

Using 1.7TB on my account and it really works well. Using http://z-o-o-m.eu or ftp to upload my stuff and then just a normal downloader to download it. Since it's premium account you can have direct downloading of your files. Maxing my 100Mbps upload to the site which really makes it easy to backup large amounts of data over night. :)

What cloud or file hosting service do you use. :)

Mix of icloud and google. Both paid, but lower tiers

Don't really need a lot of it though - just photos really.

Regarding that service - that does seem cheap, but not sure I'd entrust my data to a company I've never heard of. Do they have the same level of redundancy as google/icloud though?

Well like any file/cloud hosting I would not trust with sensitive information. Photos videos and stuff like that I guess is fine. Uptobox.com has been around for ages actually and I've been using them on an off but now they are actual worth a mention because the premium account special is pretty decent.

Some websites use them store files from torrents. Like torrents to file hoster type service so I assume they have quite a lot of storage. Speeds are really good and from what I have seen their server are OVH France servers.

They have 28 servers maybe more that I could locate via www28.uptobox.com
 
Moved about 5TB of my non sensitive data over to them. Pretty much maxing my upload speed. :)
