Ok so I still have my Rapidshare account and I want to get a Fileserve account does anyone know how much of a daily limit you have with Fileserve or can you download as much as you like a day?

Thanks in advance and hope this is the right thread to post this!

Well if u don't have an account u can only run 1 simultaneous download from fileserve. Don't think there's a daily limit. Do u use JDownloader?

But I want to know if there is any limit when you are a member?
I use Flasgot and DTA

haven't encountered a daily limit as of yet and I have done some hectic downloads from them.

It was unlimited when I got it. Did have problems with certain downloads seeming essentially crippled (like 1/10th the speed of other d/ls also coming from fileserve. But I don't think that was a limiting problem as such.

I have a premium fileserve account, I get +- 32gb a day when using it in conjunction with the download program MiPony, I usually run 5 simultaneous downloads from fileserve to make sure my line is maxed out...

have also experienced that and I think it is just that THAT particular server you were using was slow because when I get it, I usually start another one to see if the problem persists and if not then I know it was just that server.

Pretty good service, no excessive usage messages or anything. Best if used with a DL manager. Occasionally the servers will packup causing all sort of mayhem for your download. Had my account for 8 months :) still happy but looking at Filesonic when my sub ends.

Filesonic is really good. I've been using Filesonic as well as Hotfile for a while now. I have noticed that more and more files are no longer available on Hotfile, no doubt 'cos of their legal issues, and I think a lot of users are jumping ship to Fileserve, Filesonic, Megaupload and Depositfiles. I'll be looking at Fileserve when my Hotfile sub ends ;)

well I used Rapidshare until they started with their change in service...

been using Megaupload since 2008 and never looked back although lately my "files" have been getting deleted while you still other people hosting the same stuff...

got a Hotfile account sometime last year and service has also been awesome...

got a Fileserve early this year along with a friend so we are using it 50/50...
been the best cause most of the time I actually get full 4meg speed on it during day while the others get shaped pretty badly...

also been looking at Filesonic for a while now...

I was pretty happy with Hotfile, until this whole legal case came along and ruined the party.

Now I battle to find my series/TV shows. So I'm looking at Fileserve or Filesonic.

I found that with Fileserve you are allowed to upload 2GBs file sizes, whereas Filesonic allows 5GB uploads. (Premium account)

So at the moment, I'm leaning towards Filesonic.

I have been using filesonic for a while now with no hassles or limits. It seems the only limiting I am receiving is from my ISP. I have a shaped, uncapped 4mb line.

Do different ISP's have different policies on shaping downloads from these hosting servers?
Can using a VPN bypass this shaping because when I download from other ftps I can reach maximum speed?

yes be careful. in a previous thread it was apparent that doing downloads via VPN could indeed count towards shape bypassing so before you decide to just do it, maybe find out from ISP on it.

well with some1 like Afrihost, I can get full speed from all filehosts dependent ofc on the fact that their own server doesn't throttle your download.

Same with Axxess :(

So you are able to reach full speed with a shaped account? and during peak hours?

Maybe I should change my ISP.

no the Afrihost account is a capped unshaped account, but with my Mweb uncapped shaped account I still usually get full speed from Fileserve.

not most other filehosts though but what people usually do is use something like JDownload or Mipony and they download multiple files ie 2/3 Rapidshare files to make full use of a 4meg line.

My Hotfile account is expiring on the 15th. Jumping ship due to the deletion of files.

Also looking at either Fileserve or File Sonic.

So far- FS has more content
File Sonic has a lifetime account for $150. Problem is these websites seems to go belly up fast or get hit with legalities.

So will most probably go with a 6 month FS account.

Thoughts?

Thanks :)

yeah, their lifetime also caught my eye, but just as you say, you never know if they are just gonna die out any day now.

it does though make you think that, say they don't and you just go for 6month account every time; by the time you have reached the $150 mark, you could have just as well gone for it.

guess it comes down to a win-win loss-loss situation.

I go with 6month unless I can splurge for a year account or if I get some1 to share with, just so that in that time I can think of either changing or extending.

Or that they get hit with legalities like HF.

I'm gonna go for a 6 month account. And jump ship after to the next best account.

So are you getting Fileserv or FileSonic?
