So I must admit to something horrible. I laud over the FF series. I love the games and the stories. I advocate the buying and playing of these games to anyone that likes RPG games. And it all started with FF7. That was the first Final Fantasy that I played.
But I must admit, I never actually finished the game. I didn't even get past the airship part. I am a bad person I know, but I am taking steps to rectify this. I have gotten hold of the game again and am out in the open world at last. Those opening hours in Midgar are painful without being able to skip videos or speech cinematics.

So anyone else out there that has played FF7 but never actually finished it?

I hate that I have watched Advent Children before finishing the game. Such a spoiler.

The same here. I'm also halfway through. Just lost interest at some point. I still have it installed on the PC so one day I will finish it. Fingers crossed :D I started my FF journey on VIII though. I was like Standerd 6 or 7 (I don't like using Grade...sue me) when my Dad bought it for me for my birthday.

He saved alot though in the long run since I didn't ask for any new games for a long time lol.

Was like R400 bucks which was kaaaark expensive at that stage. Played for 3 months without a memory card. Hated switching off the console every day

Busy with IX on my phone now...I play so little though so I might reach retirement age before I finish it.

I finished it. And with finish it i mean i killed all 3 WEAPONS. You don't have to kill them to finish the game, but i did it because I'm badass.

I tried to finish it over a weekend without a memory card by leaving the console on. Then a power failure on the Sunday afternoon had me crying :/

Finished it twice.
Second time with all materia (mimic x2) and all weapons.
All chars maxed

And yet....it is not my favourite!
All hail FFVIII!!!

Was my 1st ever FF I played. Loved it, and still love it actually.
I lost the 3 CD's just before I managed to finish it,

I have been looking for FF8 for many a year now, but it is quite difficult to find it on the PC.

I also got my start with FFVIII and loved it! Put many many many hours into that game (stupid Triple Triad Card Game) :p
Never played FFVII but enjoyed Advent Children. Didn't play another FF until FFXIII came out on X-Box *ducks*

FFXIII and FFXIII-2 are actually pretty fun. I finished them both on PS3.

So do you guys think that VIII is better than VII? I must admit that I have never even touched 8 before. What phones are you playing it on and how did you get the game on the phone? Bought or Cracked?

The current trend is HD releases of older games.
FFX and FFX-2 are both confirmed for PS3 and Vita.

We will see what happens with the rest.

It is my opinion that FFVii is put forward as the best FF ever because the "hi tech" graphics of the ps1 made it so much more "live" compared to the 2d sprites of previous FF titles.
It is a great story and in my opinion the best magic system of any FF.

BEST GAME EVER!!!!! I recently bought 7, 8 and 9 on the ps3 and im about half way through 7 and 9. 8 was the only i never finished. only ever played a few hours into the first disc. But that will soon be rectified. My friends think im crazy because to them the games just look like a few pixel. little do they know... keep on playing and finish it. You wont be able to contain yourself when you finish off Sepiroth.

Ye I can go back to the old FF's because despite the bad graphics when compared to today, the game story, dialog and especially the magic and combat systems are still fantastic.
I mean the turn based, team vs team thing alone is still alive and kicking in today's games. It is a winning formula and to let graphics alone deter you from enjoying it is a gaming tragedy. :D

All hail FFVIII!!!

You sir, are my hero! :D

I'm a sucker for a good love-story though. Didn't feel the triangle in VII was as engrossing as VIII. Carrying Rinoa on the train tracks on your back and the space scene was like the freaking most emotional scenes in my gaming history.

*Spoiler Alert*

And when that freaking b/witch throws a freaking icicle through your chest son!

Unfortunately you're from "Jakaranda Stad". I still have the original Playstation and PC versions of VIII. I bought the PC VIII at Game like 15 years ago. Paid R150 for it.
