After so many years of being a DSTV Premium Subscriber I finally said goodbye to DSTV today.
Two weeks into my fibre line installation and everything is running smoothly.

When is/was your last payment? I struggled to get them to stop the debit order. I got my money back, eventually, but they deducted for three more months after I cancelled (few years back).
Just a heads up, check your deductions next month. I only noticed the second month.

Last time I payed them it was in March. I was not on the Debit order payment. They tried to make me pay about R1100 yesterday, and I told them over my dead body as I do not owe them anything.

When they checked my account again they realised that my I was up to date and I was always a month ahead on payments.

720:erm: You keep on telling yourself it is HD.:D

I limit my streaming to 720p because there are usually several streams flowing at the same time and we've only got a 10mb line  Still, I watched the cricket last night courtesy of ESPN and couldn't fault the picture quality.

Yup, same here. But we do have the option of 1080. DSTV subscribers not.:D

Did you watch for free or paid for it? Can you watch say the Premier league through it as well?

IIRC the EPL broadcast rights in the US belong to NBC so I think they'd be on that app, not ESPN.

I access using the details of a US satellite subscriber but Sling also offers it, and a bunch of other channels.

Also want to know this.... oh wait Bwana is a cricket photographer.

Asked and answered. ;)

And not just cricket, though I probably enjoy it the most... probably because I get to sit around all day and they [usually] feed me :p
