SentiMETAL Ep 5: Sub Zero - South Africa's Opel Kadett Superboss - Cars.co.za

the estoril blue doesn't come out well in that clip

I'm actually currently in the process of selling my last superboss, at the moment waiting for the buyer to come through but I'm hoping he doesn't.

Even back in the day, that car looked like a POS :crylaugh:

nobody that's interested in this car cares what it looks like, the car has a cult following because of its performance, and still compares with many hot hatches produced today

I think it had more to do with the name "superboss"

A Chery QQ - Superboss with a 2L 16V motor will also develop a cult following.

Clearly they have no taste or appreciation of quality

not really, the engine has a strong following in the UK and Germany, where the model superboss was not released

Clearly they have no taste or appreciation of quality

the superboss held many performance and endurance records, moreover the engine produced the highest torque per litre for NA for well over 20 years, only to be overtaken by the 458

so not sure how you measure quality when it comes to performance, I guess you look at all the shiney bits

Yeah totally.. its chromed to the hilt or its shyte...

Or of course, its just built properly and looks like its built properly, not like it was built in a backyard by a group of half arsed mechanics.

that wins championships over cars that look like they are built properly but go nowhere - incase you are wondering I'm referring to the bmw 325is that had two extra cylinders and 35% more displacement and lost to the superboss

This is why I like bumping up this thread once in a while. Always so varied opinions lol

For the record I do have a soft spot for a neat Superboss.

only the facts matter, and when it comes to the superboss the performance facts speak for themselve, over and over again, and its over 25 years later

So does the shyte build quality...

Facts are awesome aren’t they

what are you referring to exactly? if you build a car to win a championship (which is why the superboss was made) then winning the championship is the only thing that matters

no point building a car that you think is good build quality and then it wins no championship, like the BMW 325is

build quality must really suck if a race car wins races...

Umm dude... the car that is on the road was never on the race track

the car was only produced so that the race car can race, no other reason, it wasn't produced to make profits or to satisfy demand, that's how homologations work

In motorsports, homologation is the approval process through which a vehicle, a race track, or a standardised part is required to go for certification to race in a given league or series.
