As you all know I have used a lot of Windows Os's, we talking about from 95 to Vista, etc. In the past I have tried Linux and at times made great progress, however I have never had a reason to really pursue it. Until recently when after reading certain articles about Microsoft I feel disgusted, not only at the anti competitive behavior but also wasting money on Windows Vista.

I have always preferred Debian based distros, heck I love "apt-get" and had try and goes with Ubuntu. I installed Ubuntu 8.04 x64 a few days ago but had problems with it, until a few days ago I thought perhaps I should install the regular 32bit version.

After spending countless hours modding it etc, I am starting to really love it. Ok the sound is still an issue for me but I shall make a plan. I use Virtual Box to run XP, the only thing I run on XP is mxit for the PC. If I could run that on Linux I would.

After trying Linux for many years I feel Ubuntu 8.04 is getting linux to where it should be, user friendly

There is a way.. ;)
I don't use mxit myself, but my brother does and I set it up for him once. :)
The unfortunate news is that I can't for the life of me remember how I did it or what apps etc were involved.. :o :o :o

But hey, the answer is out there somewhere.. I'm sure Google knows something about it.. ;)

Hey thanks for the response, at the moment my best bet is using Mpowerplayer in linux and connecting through mxit that way. At the moment ironing a few bugs out, but so far I am very happy

Run mxit in a java emulator... and admit it... your OS is fun again... theres just so much to do!
