.. LOL. Just kidding, so keen to see how these dual GPU cards stack up to one another.

Its also perhaps not the best choice of words calling it a nice little card, the things is gigantic!
 
guys please someone in my area don't buy gtx 590, i don't want load shedding :P

other then that pitty they out my budget il have to stick 6970 :P
 
Yes it's nice if you don't want a house, or a car etc...

Spending such huge amounts of money on one component is just stupid IMO but hey, it's your money, go for it.

But I'm a fan of overkill, get it and know that you can run any game on highest settings is a very satisfying feeling :D

@TJ99, you don't know his financial situation ... perhaps he can afford it easily, don't slot everyone into your "financial bracket" ;)
 
My guess is the 6990 will be just over the price of a 580 and the 590 will be double the price of the 580 and then the "fastest card in the world" premium... so probably like R12,000

Doesn't matter dude. It's a waste of money even if you have millions. You pay 3-4 times the price for something that will hardly even give you twice the performance. Rather save the money for that Veyron. If you already have 2 (Veyrons that is), then maybe you can consider it.

But yes, that's why I said IMO, and "it's your money" if you read my post completely.

Also, you can run any games on the highest setting with far, far less.

Or about $999 in the rest of the world. Just like with the CPU's that cost R12 000 here and $999 elsewhere.
 
Even if the Radeon HD 6990 is double the price of the Radeon 6970, then we'll pay at about R8000,but with the new competition of GTX, i think we can look at a price from R6000.Lets wait and see.

(580 runs crisis smoothly.)

Back on topic, I like how they will be dynamically throttling the power on this beast, so 90% of the time it will still be a sub 300W part (as per PCI specs). But if you have the juice and the cooling it can go way past that :D

477W for just the card! 528W with OC. That is insane. It will be nice in the winter, though.
