Finally someone asks Israel the difficult question

You said it.

As it was said above the way Zionism like terrorism spreads is by garnering support from the ignorant and uneducated, if the hat fits .....

lol. But the A-rabs are the baddies and the Israeli's the goodies ! CNN told me so !

Not true! Look at the well educated (wealthy) vs. the not so well educated (poverty stricken) masses in arab countries for all the trouble.

There you will find your mass extremists evolve or flourish! Not limited to them nowadays though, since the islamic machine has been working overtime in countries like the UK where the wealthy muslims study. They are the only exceptions.

This is no longer about the US. This is about freedom law versus islamic law. For proof see posts earlier from our resident muslims, who want to kill and irradicate any western thinking people. And they claim that islam is the oldest religion and therefore should prevail.

Sick!!

CNN doesn't view Israel in a positive light

you see, 5 thousand years ago there were 2 brothers, Jacob and Ishmael......... Jacbo was a jew Ishmael a Palestine!

Eish boet. The two brothers were Isaac and Ishmael, sons of Abraham.

And yet Israel flourishes while the Arab countries do the same to Israel.
Besides the military hostility against Israel, The Arabs have an economic embargo and blockade against Israel - and yet they flourish - go figure?

If the roles were reversed and it was the Israelis in Gaza, then Gaza would by now be the Monaco of the Middle East.

Israel flourishes on US aid, and that's been the case since 1949. link
Israel received $62.5 billion in foreign aid from fiscal year 1949 through fiscal year 1996
in precisely the same 1949-1996 time frame, the total of U.S. foreign aid to all of the countries of sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean combined was $62,497,800,000--almost exactly the amount given to tiny Israel.

So.. 62 billion and that goes to 5 million people living in Israel.

and over a billion in Sub Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribean.

Lets face it, Israel isn't flourishing from their own energy, they are merely flourishing from handouts.

Lets remember that Bush and Obama have also made huge aid arms contributions towards Israel. In all likelihood, they have received well over $100 billion in handouts.

CNN doesn't view Israel in a positive light

haha.. What CNN do you watch?

CNN might be a little less biased towards Israel, but it certainly doesn't tell the truth.
It always sides with Israel.

If you watched the Operation Cast Lead coverage that they had, it was more of a propaganda operation than journalism.

Just look at the history of how CNN and others report.

Initially it was "jews were attacked today in their settlements on the Palestinan land.

Then it became "jews were attacked in their settlements"

today we hear "jews were attackes in their neighbourhood"

The media never sides with Israel thats gotta be the funniest thing i have heard.

The Palis are quite capable of doing the same, Ramallah in the West Bank is currently thriving, unfortunately it suits Hamas to keep the population of Gaza in squalid conditions, it keeps the hatred alive - content people don't feel the need to fight and hate so much.

haha ... Another ridiculous comment.

Please tell HOW the West bank is "thriving"? if by thriving you mean sustaining life.

The quality of life of the West Bank Arabs is a terrible shame. The israeli's have build checkpoints between every urban area, which can take hours to cross. Sometimes people are not allowed through because an israeli soldier is having a bad day. people die at checkpoints because they can't get to a hospital during an emergency.

West Bank isn't thriving at all, unless you compare it to Gaza.

Sure there is USA aid, but so what, most of it goes unfortunately for military spending, thats what it is for. Egypt receives almost the same aid, I think the figure is at least 77% of what Israel gets according to the 78 peace treaty.

So sorry your argument is flawed, Saudi Barbaria earns 100x the annual aid that Israel gets from the USA from oil revenues and yet they are still a backward sandpit.

The Israeli economy weathered the financial storm very well, the real estate is booming and just across the sand dunes oil rich Emirates are struggling to stay afloat, go figure.

shame you can't read, who said anything about the West bank
I said Ramallah is thriving, actually booming at the moment.

and that was shown that the Palestinians can get things right if they want to, but hey, if you don't think the Palestinians are capable of achieving economic success, I am the last to argue with you.

The converse is thus also true that there will never be peace in the region while extreme Islam exists. By what logic do you arrive at the solution that Zionists are the problem?

Interestingly enough I once worked with a Palestinian Engineer whose home was Jerusalem. I asked him how things were over there because of all the stuff you see on the news etc. He said he has neighbours that are Christians and Jews and they all get along just fine. The trouble starts when politicians and the power hungry get involved and stir up the emotions of the gullible and disaffected.

Bottom line is the average man is quite happy to live in a multi-cultural, mixed religion, multi-national mix.

The problem you have is when religious extremists get involved. And the major problem that Israel has at the moment, is that a huge population of rightwing jewish extremists have become voting age in the last 5 years and have a huge say in the countries politics now. These extremist Jews have 8-10 children, live in poverty and believe every word of the Torah and Talmud. They are the reason Netanyahu got elected. find out more from this bbc report - Unreported World - Israel: The Battle for Israel's Soul

relevant article - Occupation Eats Away Israel's Heart and Soul

The Israeli's are using these extremists as weapons by moving these groups of people to the settlements and stoke problems with the Arabs and Christians.

watch the documentary, and see what the situation is.

How do the Islamists decide which of the Western media aren't biased against them? - Quite surprised to see the BBC and Channel4 used.

Maybe it's a case of cherry picking only the reports we like?

Strange how National Geographic was considered taboo after they produced the documentary "Inside 911".

Could you give the Israeli aid as a percentage of their GDP and as a percentage of the African GDP's for this period please.

The Israeli economy weathered the financial storm very well, the real estate is booming and just across the sand dunes oil rich Emirates are struggling to stay afloat, go figure.

USAID reported 28 billion in aid to Egypt between 1973 to 2006. So that is nowhere near $114 billion in total aid to Israel at a conservative estimate at financial year end 2007 according to Washington Report on Middle East Affairs

So your figure of 77% is completely invalid and it is closer to 25%.

Lets not talk about Saudi Arabia, because it is run by an utterly corrupt monarchy.

regarding the rich emirates, not all of them are rich. Abu Dhabi is the wealthy Emirate. Dubai whom was destined to be the tourist emirate was built on a foundation of sand and derivatives. There is still $1 trillion worth of loss to realise, and that is entirely the responsibility of American, European banks who made reckless loans to an emirate that has a insignificant oil wealth.

And your referencing to all of the emirates being broke is a good example of how little you know. Abu Dhabi is sitting on the largest sovereign wealth fund in the world at $750-900 billion.

They will not be bailing out Dubai much, but will rather come in later when the property in dubai has lost 40-60% of value and pick it all up on the cheap.

Unfortunately that is too much effort, but I found this from Harvard Israel Review

By Levin’s calculations, unilateral transfers to Israel such as U.S. foreign aid, combined with borrowing by the Israeli government, allow the government to annually spend $10 billion more than it takes in as revenues. Because much of this additional $10 billion comes to Israel as “free money,” Israel’s debt burden increases only by a fraction of its excess spending. In Levin’s view, this free money allows inefficient government programs and corporations to continue running at the expense of liberalizing the economy.24

Levin also argues that American aid contributes to Israel’s lack of economic self-sufficiency. He observes that despite a sharp drop in Israel’s economic growth rate since 1973, the rate of private consumption growth has not dropped proportionately because a large percentage of the Israeli workforce is employed by the government or by government-owned corporations, which U.S. aid props up. As a result, Israelis are living beyond their means, and according to Levin they depend on U.S. aid to be able to do so. If this fiscal irresponsibility continues and the flow of aid ever stops, Israel’s lack of economic self-sufficiency could jeopardize its stability.
