Find Cell number owner

Hi guys I am sure you may have seen requests like this on many sites ,
But I am hoping some kind Person will assist if they can and bend a few rules .
The story is simple and common , harassing phone calls all sorts of obsinitys endless daily text messages to a very close friend.
The usual has been done reported to the police ( who are so useless ) but they cant do anything unless its a assualt ,murder or some crime.
Short of just blocking the number which is a option albeit a temp option ( they would just use another number )
the real goal is to find out who it is .
Cell C confirms it is Rica'd sim but wont give Owner details for obvious company policy reason .

I ask here in the hopes some one can assist and or may be bend the rules.

All they are willing to confirm is its A cell C number (duh) and that is is Rica'd

well I have advised that once she know's who it is she can Lay a Charge , obtain a restraining order ultimately they would know that they have been outed and from there it would be much easier to handle .

First stop - Police, get case number, let police ask for details, get restraining order.
The "favour"-route could land you into trouble

Doesnt the cell c "My Tools" allow you to block a number from sending you anything?

Its just built to a matter of frustration now as the police have had the issue for almost a Month and half now with no results.

Ooooo ... yeah!! Then they will have to get hundreds of restraining orders!!!

We can call them and ask to leave a message for say John
After a while they will just shout - "There is no John at this number" upon which the MyBB member will respond "This is John, are there any messages for me?"

I absolutely agree. It's one of those requirements that seems to inconvenience everyone except the nefarious individuals it's supposed to be reining in.

um the networks will tell you that they own the numbers. ICASA and co will tell you that nobody owns the number its just an assignment ...

You know the number, you can spam back. Get voice recorded on the other side, just in case of more serious matter.

I too have been a victim of fraud whereby I sold furniture to this "buyer" who "set up" proof of payment via EFT into my bank account, only to find out that it was all fake. I am livid and have a cell phone and want to trace this woman via RICA but I see that it would be a waste of my time. Can anyone please help me, it would be very much appreciated. Thanx
