Geez, the only place in Sandton City that had Battlefield 2 was CNA, and only bundled with a sh*tty "VOIP" headset. Gah.

Oh well, at least I have it now. Just have to wait for my ADSL installation. :D
 
yea but you can be sure its a kuk headset unless it costs around 600 for package

i bought the logitec precision but it hurts my ears after awhile
 
It is a Labtec Headset no matter what the box says. It is also supposed to be free but the whole lot is selling for R369. Seeing that Budget Technologies sell it for R299 I'd say you're paying R60 for a free headset.

There is also a computer shop downstairs at Sandton near the movies. But their customer service sucks.
 
That's not bad. Just take it :)
I bought a Logitech gaming headset, quite comfortable. Though I only use the mic, the unit rests on my neck. As I use loudspeakers..

Labtec is good... Was it the Labtec headset?

Problem with this setup is that you echo back sound to other players on network. Causes network overhead...

Earphones with mic is better... if you want to spare the network...

Wrong:regarding echo... Just make sure you set your VOIP threshold that it only picks up when you speak...
I prefer listening to my Z680's with surround sound and a 180w sub, headphone/mic sets i only use for Skype and the mic for gaming...

You can achieve "louder" volumes with a good headset, but it hurts your ears afterwhile. You dont also "feel" the bass as you would with a physical Sub on a good surround system. So i guess it's personal preference...

Yeah, it's the labtec jobbies.

Price was R359.95, a bit of a rip off if you ask me. But like I said, it was the only place that had it. I checked incredible ripoff, and the place downstairs... but none of them had anything even remotely close to BF2.
 
What is 'ears flutter'? You are clearly not playing them loud enough or wearing them for long enough. I'd also suggest a set that has realy good bass - it is the lower frequency sounds that are able to penetrate dense material.
 
When i mean hurt, i refer to actual volume hurt, like you in a nightclub for too long.
The thing with headphones, they sound awesome, but you dont realise how loud you playing them, :)

yes, a good pair has great bass, but i prefer the bass you feel in your chest :)
Unless you have an uber pair of surround headphones, nothing beats 5.1 speaker system plugged into a SB live/audigy. You can really pinpoint from which side a guy is walking, a tank or chopper is approaching etc...

Oh yes! my favourite... WHen i luanch a rocket, and reload while im walking, i hear the empty shell drop behind me in the sattelite speakers, awesome...
