Finding Models for Photography

Try having a look on facebook for local photography groups, see if your local camera store maybe hosts events etc, things like that. Often as a "newbie" (ie. an unknown) you don't have the instagram profile with model#1 above to show off etc, but there's quite a few groups or people who organise "days" with a couple of models, couple of photographers etc. and you all get together and shoot etc. Your preferred camera brand might also host events, and even if they don't some other brands likely will and events are not normally "exclusive" to one brand etc.

If that's a casting couch joke, it's in poor taste.

Show us some of your “photos”. All of us here hang out with models that we might be able to connect you with.

If you don’t believe me, find any thread here involving a woman and see how lowly we rate her.
2/10 - slight leftward slant in nose.

This thread came up in a google search for modelbase..
I had a look around and that Modelbase place is closed, domain is parked, all I found was this:
There must be some groups on Facebook that do a similar thing?

Unfortunately the dodo is common these days, even Modelmayhem is dying though that's more bad management. Models nowadays tend to use onlyfans. Best bet is probably going through instagram profiles to see who might be looking to build up a portfolio and will bite. The facebook groups tend to become inactive and full of spam.

What is the “dodo”?
Modelmayhem has a few South Africa based models listed but almost all very old profiles 5yrs+

Something that's dying. Yeah as I said. Nothing wrong with old profiles as long as they are active but most register to see what it's about and then disappear. It's a common complaint.

Social media has tried to take over these areas that used to exist online but unfortunately it hasn't done a good job and it's hard to find on there.

But for the OP and those in the same situation, be active where people are active. Use multiple fronts with multiple profiles. Instead of trying to showcase all of your work in one place pick some good ones and tailor each portfolio to its audience. Get a linktree and link to all your other profiles. This also allows you to link to all those risque shots. Also people aren't going to come to you so be active and engage their content by liking posts and commenting.
