I have an HP DV6 laptop with win vista home premium. The laptop came with a built in fingerprint reader which I have now come to rely on completely to login to various websites using IE as my default browser as well as for documents and spreadsheets that password encrypted.

I have since started using Chrome more for my internet browsing but cannot get the fingerprint reader software to work with Chrome. Is there an add-on or other software that I can use to get this working with Chrome? It has worked with FF and Safari but I want to make Chrome my default browser.

Fingerprint reader software: DigitalPersona Personal V 4.11.3826

Not as far as I'm aware. Google reveals people have been asking for this for a while now.

As impressive as they may look, I've always wondered just how secure those systems really are. Like the Windows login password, they'll keep the average tsotsie out, but how strong is the encryption? Full disk encryption? If so that's pretty good.

It's all up to you. Full disk encryption is cool but please ensure you have a open backup because if the encryption key gets corrupted you are just as good as without any data.
