Hey I want to lock some of my files!
And then enter them by putting my finger on my fingerprint reader!

Can that be done?

Bad Pooky bad!
Sounds like a cool idea though ;)
The fingerprint reader, not the prOn :p

E-Books filled with PrOn? But why?

I'm sure the guys at Adobe didn't intend Acrobat for this purpose...

Ah but they did.

Err...sorry, didn't believe you but found THIS!

picture.php

Microsoft Fingerprint Reader , usb - to replace the type-in of password

Retails for around R330

Just know that fingerprint readers have been circumvented before, mythbusters proved that it was possible, even on high end industrial devices.

/me googles "circumvented"

EDIT: circumvented = Bypassing.

Well, how did they do that? Chopping the guys finger off? Using Sellotape like the movies? how

On cheaper devices they used a scan/copy of the fingerprint.

On the higher end devices they added a heat source to simulate body temperature. They also used ballistics gel but the paper seemed to work just as well.

It was actually scary how easily they managed to do it, this after the manufacturer had gauranteed that they wouldn't be able to.

So yeah, cutting off the finger would probably work well too.
