Finish off this PC please.

Ok, if you're not even going to read my posts, I'm not going to bother.. You're just wasting my time.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the help and advice, I went with the Coolermaster 310, very nice case.

Also went with the Coolermaster 550w just in case and I wanted to unlock cores, overclock the CPU and GPU.

Managed to unlock 3 cores, the auto clock feature on this board took the CPU to 3.7ghz.

I still have the stock cooler atm, so now looking to order the aftermarket cooler, so I'm busy reading what you are discussing here.

Under load OCCT my CPU gets up to 59/60 degrees if I remember correctly, is there something i should be using to make sure my fan increases speed when the CPU gets hotter?

I turned off Cool n Quiet.

AMD's site says that the 555 can reach 70 degrees and other forums say 60 would be safe, I'm talking about stock speeds and stock cooler.

I checked the temps with HW Monitor, Speed Fan and some other tools.

Thanks

Cool and quiet can stay on with some motherboards if you are overclocking. Max temps for the Phenom series is around 67° iirc, but you always want some headroom, thats why people dont like going over 60°. I would definately go for an aftermarket cooler at those temps/speeds. Your motherboard should already be increasing fan speeds when it gets hot, you can double check that (and adjust if you want) somewhere in the bios
