Fire at Nestle factory

A fire broke out at Nestle's Cremora manufacturing factory in Potchefstroom in the North West on Friday.

The flame had sparked in the factory's electrical control room, said Nestle spokeswoman Motshidisi Mokwena.

"There were no injuries sustained and all employees were evacuated and accounted for," she said.

The extent of the damage would only be established after the investigation and clean-up efforts on Saturday.

I think there is always a big risk of a fire at any factory that produces powdered ingredients like milk, soup, flour etc. Somebody lighting up a cigarette nearby could cause a huge accident. I think these kind of accidents happen quite frequently.
