Fire at St George's Cathedral
"The fire was an act of arson. It appears that a lit piece of cotton/gauze was thrown through the small, barred window near the steps leading up to the cathedral's Wale Street entrance. Someone was spotted running away from the cathedral," Weeder said.

Bathurst heritage site goes up in flames
A devastating fire in the early hours of Monday morning has all but destroyed the Bathurst 1820 Centenary Hall, which is also a heritage site.
Ndlambe Municipal Manager, Rolly Dumezweni, said the hall was badly damaged in the fire.
He told Algoa FM News that they also received reports of people seen running away from the building after the fire was reported at about 4 am by Multi-Security.

What's the desired outcome from all these arson attacks? We're a democracy now.

Bizarre! The cotton flinging arsonist. Petrol price must be too high.

Perhaps the building has some perceived problematic past? Not any I am aware of though.
Hopefully everything can be fully restored soon.

Seems like certain people and groups in this country have just discovered the fiery wonders of arson. Since well trends are amongst the gods of SA, then we shall see praise and worship of this one yet. And of course, there’s always the responsible who stand to gain from the hype and/or political end of it.
Next thing you know, schools and houses will be burning.

since the parliament fire police have been "patrolling" that area, Company's Garden has been closed off.
