Fire dept defends billing for all call-outs

Good idea - lets privatize all services and stop paying tax.

What about shack dwellers? Just leave them to burn?
ANC response: LEt them eat cake!

No you give the service then bill them. How you get the money.. well yeah.

fck me! What do we pay taxes for then!!!???
Understand the charity question:mad:

This is an interesting question?

Who gets charged for the fire brigade call out in a squatter camp fire?
They are charged, the part where they have to pay is the sticky part.

Speak to my councillor maybe?? ( he will probably ignore me, as he has no incentive to listen)

You will need to grease their palms a bit to get anyone to listen.

I wish I could give all my tax money to charities and not pay a cent tax to this pathetic gov't. They don't deserve 1c of my hard earned tax money.

Who is they? Multiple dwelling are usually taken out when the wind picks up. Also who does the bill go to for bush fires? Mother Nature?

God. We should sue him.

This sounds like selective billing. If you have cash you are going to take it like a man.

Locally, we've been paying for 'callouts' for years and years already afaik. Called them a few months ago as the empty lot nextdoor was buuuurning - owner got the invoice afaik, not us.

I can understand them charging for a cat in a tree or home mad pipe bomb gone wrong but seriously...

Next they will include the e-tolling charges incurred in getting to you...

I wonder if all non-essential(even some essential ones like the fire department) government departments were closed for a month, if any1 will notice!!

I wonder how this affects insurance claims?

Can you claim the call out fee as well if say your house burns down?

Next they'll be shoving an invoice into your limp, bloodied, non-responsive hand for you to sign before they'll use the jaws of life to pry what's left of you out of your vehicle.

"Ma'am, I need you to sign this."

*UGGHHH*

"A simple 'x' will do. Yes, that's fine. A squiggle is acceptable too - so long as it's your squiggle."

"Now, with technicalities out of the way, are you experiencing any sort of pain?"

*ARRRRGHHHHH!*

This

So... how many countries has that worked out for?

Probably none. But it sure beats paying tax and then again for the service.

I have already been told by a police officer (a woman) that the police protect "poor black people" and us "rich white people" need to get armed response. This was after I called them about a suspicious person on my pavement. When I demanded to speak to their superior I got transferred around the charge office until they just cut me off. I phoned back and spoke to the station commander the next day. But nothing happened of course.

Pay taxes for the road, then pay tolls to use the road
Pay taxes for the fire department, then pay again if you ever actually need them.
Pay taxes for the police, then pay a security company to be safe

Whats next?
