Firefix - I.E - WirelessG, Gconnect etc charge per data usage e.g per mb

Now in firefox and internet explorer - how do you ensure that content such as flash pbjects, videos etc do not load - thus preventing excessive data charges? For example, I have disabled - load images automatically.
 
Mehtod 2 - refreshing this page continously to check for a response - uses 0.1mb each time
 
Used gconnect adsl for 10 minutes surfing 5 websites and incl. refreshing my email (thunderbird) every 60 seconds - used 80cents
 
Lose IE. Use Firefox with adblock plus and flashblock add-ons. Problem solved.
