Firefox 3.1 gets tab overhaul

Opera has always lagged no matter what PC I installed it on be it XP Pro or Vista. Very, very slow in comparison to both FF and IE.

Help us out - what are you talking about? FF has loads more add-ons... and features out of the box... does Opera have live bookmarks for RSS (just one example)?
 
The other major improvement in Firefox 3.1 is the built-in support for the open source multimedia format .ogg. Ogg Vorbis is a free multimedia format for video and audio and, until now, needed a plugin to be played through a Firefox browser. Firefox 3.1 now has built in support which makes it a snap to view files in this format online.

Do we really need this? As long as I have Flash or Silverlight I can watch most things out there. Why bloat up my browser with junk I don't want and nobody uses?

That said I love Firefox. This new release sounds great!

1) Opera had tabs before FF
2) Opera has had previews on tabs for a while now
3) Opera had RSS reading before FF
4) Tab dragging already works this way in Opera
5) Mouse gestures were first in Opera

These are just some from the latest announcement and off the top of my head.

Dont you just hate these arguments? If we had to play at that this world would be nowhere. Europe had cars first - we cant use them or improve them. Africa didnt invent TV's or cellphones so we wouldnt be able to use that either. Africa invented the third world countries - TG europe and america cant use that.... :rolleyes: Improvement is whats needed! I couldnt care less who had it first.
Tell me, do you drive a Model T Ford? I thought so. Hypocrite.

Ogg Vorbis Is the best dog-gone cotton picking audio compression there is and it's open source. All the more reason for me to use FF. (I'm just a nobody musician so I suppose my opinion doesnt really count):rolleyes:
