Just hope the developers of the 3rd party Firefox add-ons/extensions act quickly and upgrade their add-on versions to function properly in this new Firefox release.

Yeah, that is my problem. I seriously considered downloading the lastest RC version of 3.5 that was out on the 27th but I knew a lot of my add-ons would not be compatible. For this reason I may also hold off on the upgrade today until I am sure they work The add-ons make Firefox!

That's weird... it says 3.5 on the web page, in the file name and in the about box... but after installation the Release Candidate notes come up. They probably have not had time to update the welcome page.

Damn, they need to all update their addons quick quick! It is like using a foreign browser now that I have lost my mini theme, my amended "right click" menus etc etc!

You can fix that yourself BTW.
Just extract the contents of the addon xpi file and somewhere in there, there's a notepd file that needs to be edited so that older addons work. Google it..

I have to admit to not seeing the big deal with it though as I have Firefox set to clear all private data when exiting Firefox anyway. Or am I missing something else?

Ha! Finally my browser's spell check works! Installed 3.5 this morning and no problems. So far it feels faster as well

Can someone please explain the difference in FF versions? I have 3.0.5 or something like that but this is 3.5?

Yes, this is the middle release before Firefox 4.
3.5 is the newest version released yesterday.
3.0.5 is a much older version, it was already up to 3.0.11 before 3.5 was released yesterday.
