I was expecting just another routine update for Firefox because, to be brutally honest, I've never really been able to tell any difference between Firefox before and after an update but this time I have.

Apart from the overall speed and snappiness of the browser, Firefox now has Personas (single click themes with previews) which is absolutely brilliant. You can feel it's not the "bloaty" type of themes that bog the browser down, very very well implemented. Well done Mozilla...

Just installed mine and if my international was not so down each 5min I would have checked out the personas.

Its definitely a lot less RAM hungry now. At startup it only uses around 30MB compared to the 40-50 it used to use.

Personas have been around for a while, have they not? Well I have had them prior to this update.

Perhaps it was an addon and is now included?

Is it just me or does opening a tab in 3.6 now open right next to the origin tab instead of at the end of all your open tabs like it did in 3.5.

Yes it does and I dont really like it. I'm sure it can be changed in about:config though.

Yeah it feels faster for me too - well previously it felt like molasses so anything is an improvement. Still i'm back to FF for now, hopefully it stays as responsive as it is now.

Here is how to fix:

* Type about:config in the address bar. Then, if needed click the “I’ll be careful, I promise!” button.
* Next, in the filter box – type in: tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent
* Right-click that about:config entry, and select “Toggle”

This will convert Firefox back to loading opening a new tab from a web page on the far right of the tab bar, rather than right next to the tab you opened it from.
