Hey guys

So firefox 4.0 is to be released tomorrow but for Mozilla to be able to role it out they have had to start rolling it onto their FTP servers early. So although its not officially out this is the finished release which can be downloaded from their FTP directly. The following links bellow will download FF 4.0 directly from Mozilla's FTP server:

PC:Firefox 4.0 Final ZA Version: Download here
PC:Firefox 4.0 Final US Version: Download here
PC:Firefox 4.0 Final GB Version: Download here

Mac:Firefox 4.0 Final ZA Version: Download here
Mac:Firefox 4.0 Final US Version: Download here
Mac:Firefox 4.0 Final GB Version: Download here

Linux x86:Firefox 4.0 Final ZA Version: Download here
Linux x86:Firefox 4.0 Final US Version: Download here
Linux x86:Firefox 4.0 Final GB Version: Download here

I have checked the downloads and they work as of writing but Mozilla is trying to block it so you might have an issue getting it if they do password protect their server.

MAC and Linux will be updated as I can grab them.

I installed RC2 earlier today and I just checked to see if I could upgrade it to final but it looks like final was installed this afternoon already. I'll stick with chrome though.

I just ran a benchmark from futuremark and on my pc at least chrome is still much faster

I only use FF at the office and was really getting pissed off with how bloated 3.6 was feeling.
FF 4 though, looks better, feels smoother and is a great improvement on prior versions for sure.

/puts Chrome on the backburner

I'm tempted, but I wonder how many plug-ins that are vital to web development will become casualties with this update?

I also use Firefox as my browser I just can't get used to Chrome.
About 2 months back I made the switch and I couldn't get used to it but stuck with it because of the speed now I cant get enough of it and their app store is awesome!

So just keep with it and after a week or so you wont want to use anything else!

Cold ..err.. comfort! :D Chrome breaks, that I've been able to find, the alt_back-arrow that, I think (not sure baout Opera) everyone makes available to go back a page, in Chrome you go back a tab and I DO.NOT.WANT: it's meant to be back to the previous page on THIS bloody tab, dammit! .../rant :erm: So I'll pass on Chrome, thanks.

FF4 seems to have a Chrome feel to it without chucking away what made Firefox awesome, all my old addons working too <3 Can upload the installer to my site mirror if anybody has timeouts trying to dl it

Started using it ages ago but it took me a while to get used to, now I won't go back.

Hmm Firefox looks great I like the new features
Tab grouping, pinning of tab-apps and doing all that with the "Chrome Look"
Also the built in Bookmark sync between systems looks great, Pity I cant install FF for android on my 2.3.3 and see if it syncs across to that as well
Otherwise great job... well a lot better than IE9 I would say
