Firefox 5 launched

Wow huge surprise that FF5 is out already considering FF3 and FF4 took ages to be released. Not sure I'll notice any difference in the new version because FF4 has worked like a dream with no problems whatsoever.

Uhm ... I just glossed over the "Brand New" features of FF5 .... are those not the same features that come with FF4 ? lolz

Edit: Oh and another thing, I think Mozilla is trying to get the FF version count up ... you know it is difficult to get people to believe in a browser that has a young sounding version number, you know ... like IE9 and Chrome12 ... lolz again
 
Firefox and Chrome are patched up, fixed up and versioned up way to fast - seems like very unstable browsers. I'll stick to Opera & IE.

I must be falling behind, I am sure I only installed Version 4 last week!

Actually despite the glitches, I can't leave my live bookmarks alone :)
 
I have IE,firefox and opera on my pc but I find Opera the best browser out right now IMO.The main thing is that the password manager just kicks what the others offer....
Also faster than the other two(dont forget turbo when your speeds are really draging) and i can use opera unite with my opera mini on any phone which i change often so its so quick and easy to get all my preferences in my mobile browser in two minutes.
 
I am just an ordinary user wanting a no-frills browser, which FF did for years - until I installed FF4! Suddenly I started to experience problems with loading certain pages etc. I moved to Chrome which is not perfect either, but once a person left it is not so easy winning him back.
 
Mouse gestures, browsing session, password manager, download manager, email client even tabs - Opera had all that even before these n00bie browsers were developed. With Opera Unite and Opera Link they are just keeping on with the keeping ahead.

No it actually looks a lot like Opera.The red O at the top left changed to Firefox etc. For me no one can beat the simplicity of Chrome and it's the fastest too. Opera comes second. Will probably be very fast when 11.5 stable is released.

This will be the death of FF. Not all plugin developers will want to update their plugins every 3 months just to cater for new (major) FF versions.

This rush to release major versions of browsers is ridiculous. This release should at most have been 4.1

Roux I just cant understand why opera isnt the most popular,ive been using it for years and this thing is damn stable...I DONT THINK I EVER HAD MINE CRASH EVEN ONCE,and I browse several hours daily....flash videos etc etc.....

Why does everyone jump for chrome or firefox?is it the hype?naming maybe lol coz lets face its chrome and firefox sounds better than opera.....:p

Yeah plus they have that email integration that they are toying with,they just need to work out the ergonomics properly and wham soon all the noob browsers will copy but they get alot of lime light about it?why doesnt opera get the lime light?very strange.....

Because have you ever seen a Opera ad? They very small so cannot spend lots and lots on ads. And also I think because MS has IE, Mac has Safari and Linux have Firefox/Chromium. Opera has?
 
The thing is most people using FF and Chrome were either using IE 10 years ago or did not have internet 10 years ago. Personally I used IE 2 when I first got internet back on windows 3.11 and then upgraded to Netscape 3 which I also used on Windows 95. I started using Opera as my main browser when V4 came out and never looked back.
 
My problem is that Opera was commercial back then, dont know about now, And there is no way I am going to buy a browser if I can get FF and all its glory for free.

As for Chrome, when I turn on Ad Block or no script it means dont download the damn things, not hide them.
