Firefox 8 available for download

Firefox 8 will be officially released tomorrow but it is already available for download on Mozilla's FTP servers.

Key features
  • Add-ons installed by third party programs are now disabled by default
  • Twitter added to search bar
  • Preference added toload tabs on demand (improving start-up time when windows are restored)
  • Improved performance and memory handling
  • Added support for HTML5 context menus
  • Fixed several stability issues

Um, it says "permission denied" when you try to download anything.
 
Every time a new version is released with "improved memory handling" as a feature, yet nothing changes.
 
Wait, I just upgraded to FF7 a few weeks ago :confused:

FF is easily the highest consumer of memory on my PC at any given time. Maybe "improved memory handling" is just that. Seeing that it's such a high consumer, I welcome any way in which it handles memory better. Must admit over the recent releases it's been more stable than ever.
 
FTP mentions it'll give error 550 on high volumes of traffic

Confirmed above link is English version \o/
 
Certainly feels snappier from poking and prodding it,just remember to grab Memory Fox addon if you don't have it yet
