I wanted to get a quick peek at some Firefox add-ons. I do not really want to get into add-on development but I like to have a peek at the source code. No google as I may I do not seem to find how one should go about doing this quickly. If this can't be done then I am beginning to question whether we are not exposing ourselves to security risks by installing these little add-ons. I was under the impression that these add-ons are simply javascripts so why is it not a simple matter of viewing the code?
XPI is merely a renamed zip. Simple, easy, effective. Download the XPI you're interested in, extract and view. Mozilla also has good extension documentation online.
