I like firefox.
But when I need to download a pdf file, firefox does not play with.

Then I start up IE and get it from there.

I tried some add ons and play with settings, but why so difficult.

Can someone pls help.

There should be an option for pdf files.
In the mac version of firefox > preferences > applications > content type, there is an option as to how you want firefox to handle pdf files.
I imagine the same would apply in the windows version.
Look in tools / options / applications - or something like that (sorry, cant remember how to access in firefox for windows) but the option should be lurking about as how it should handle content types.

In Windows 8 there is a built-in PDF thingy that gets on my tit. Change the default behaviour to always use Adobe Reader. I have never had problems with PDF's in Windows 7.

must confess I am still on xp.
There is a option, what would I like FF to do, none work, nothing happens, but IE, no problem.

Yeah, FF probably doesn't know what you're on about since XP is more than 10 years old and it's a modern browser. ;)

What happens if you right-click on the pdf link and select 'save link as' option?
