Firefox/Chrome HELP.

I’m having problems with Firefox and chrome whenever I open or close a tab the browsers just hang for a few seconds (usually +-10s) this is really starting to frustrate me. I tried both versions of Firefox (3.0.36 and 3.5.2) same problem. I tried downgrading flash to the previous version but still!!! I’m running out of options please help me.

Sounds like there might be a problem with your OS.

Are you running Windows Vista with latest service packs?

Flock used to do that to me.

Chrome puts tabs in separate processes so opening and closing them could result in a delay...but it really shouldn't be noticeable. Have you tried FF in safe mode?

Yes im running win7 and no i havnt tried FF in safe mode.... What i did was unistall shockwave (chrome would give a crash message saying shockwave is unresponsive) and flash and no problems so far but now i cant go to facebook etc because it requires the software.
