"But while Firefox 3.1 lags behind WebKit and Chrome, it is substantially faster than every other browser that Computerworld tested. Beta 2, for example, is almost twice as fast at rendering JavaScript as Opera Software ASA 's Opera 10 , which was released in alpha just last week; and Mozilla's current production Firefox 3.0.4 version."

:)

using gentoo here: mozilla-firefox-3.0.7 marked stable. very deliciously :p

Chrome is specifically targeting lightning fast multithreaded JavaScript, and fits in very well with Google's plans for offline web apps.

In theory, you could do useful work with a super lightweight OS that just loads Chrome.

BTW, is it only me who is surprised that none of the browsers come (I think) with download manager functionality built in... or is this just an issue for S.A. internet users?

Opera comes with the best download manager and torrent support... i.e the best browser in the world.
