Anybody having problems trying to connect through Firefox? Yesterday Firefox was working fine then the automatic update prompts me to update software. After updating and restarting Firefox doesnt connect at all.

Already tried the firewall and anti-virus. Nothing yet.

BTW. Im using version 3.0.4

1) Can you connect through other browsers?
2) Do you have a lot of extensions?

Try creating a new profile and see if it connects. If it does, then it means your old profile is corrupt.

Your profile is located in ...

C:\Documents and Settings\{Your User Name}\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\... and will have a bunch of letters and numbers as the folder name... eg. k13xy5k6.default

That is where all your extensions and bookmarks and settings are kept.

Read here for more about profiles... http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles

If you decide to completely re-install Firefox, remember to uninstall, and then deleted that data in three locations...

1) Your profile... as mentioned above.
2) Additional settings in C:\Documents and Settings\{Your User Name}\Application Data\Local Settings\Mozilla\Firefox\...
3) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\

Try that.

Check:
Edit -> Preferences
Network tab, under Connection section is Settings button ...
Try No proxy and Use system proxy
Check what IE uses.
I do not have problem with Ubuntu/8.04 (hardy) Firefox/3.0.4
