Where in Cape Town can I go for FAC (First Aid Classes) and it won't cost me a arm and a leg but is also accredited etc.

Thanks!

St. Johns Ambulance offers basic training and certificates.
It's not free and will set you back some hundred rands. Oh and did I mention, you get a glossy book included in the price.

Last time I checked Basic Ambulance Assistant was not available, but that was oh, 8 years ago. So yes, level 3

A couple of years ago I did my level 1 and level 3 with Ysterplaat Medial Supplies. If I can remember correctly, the level 2 was scrapped and you can do your basic level 1 and then a slightly more advanced level 3. They have a group on facebook @ http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=5867119700 and Jarred Rose is the main oke to speak to :)

I thought there were more but I would do all 3.
You know the costs involved though?

After the necessary but boring first 3, theres 5 (BAA) which allows you to administer drips (but not inject), defib, ride in volunteer and metro ambulances to build experience which then progresses to paramedic of which there are different levels. I did level 5 with Ysterplaats' Lukas but it's challenging...

Well I did mine at school - do Level 3 - it's only 4 days from 9am to 4PM. It's very easy, although I think I fluked the 76% I got in the exam lol. Our school subsidised us though, I think the proper cost is R800.

Yes I know :p...that's why I gave you the 'real' cost ;)

And check your PM, I'm sending you the number of the guy who did our course.

Okay, I've done First Aid Level #1 :D YAY! :D

GZ !

hehe, these course are easy. I did lvl 1 - 3 at work and i need to do a refresher soon. But it is nice to know. Lvl 1 - 2 is as easy as pie. Lvl 3 the real fun starts then after that you get EAS ALS and and and....
