So I need to buy my first car and I’ve calculated what I can afford and what I’d like at I am trying to decide between my two favourite options (open to other suggestions)
Needs to be an automatic and relatively comfy because of my arthritis.

Should I get a brand new Hyundai grand i10 or a 1 year old i20 with a mileage of 24k KMs.
Would really appreciate advice.

Really? They so popular though? What about it is not comfy?

I would recommend the TATA Bolt, but they dont come in automatic though. They are very comfy though. Also, TATA discontinuing them, so not sure how much longer they will be offered for sale in RSA.

Indeed the i20 has hard to push pedals for some reason, if you spending hours in it everyday, its not very nice.

Its fine otherwise, and very cheap to maintain.

After an year or so my legs was in so much pain I could not sleep anymore, sold the car 2 days afterwards.

Odd. My father had one and never mentioned anything about that. Are you certain it's not just that you have the muscle tone of wet spaghetti?

Maybe lol

Another forum member confirmed he also felt it was not as comfy as other cars regarding to the pedals, when I made original thread back then. I guess you can play around with the seating and see if you can get more comfortable positioning, but I could not get it right.

I20 is not comfy at at all, had to sell mine because of that exact reason.

This is the strangest comment I have seen in a long time. Lets just say if you are uncomfy in a i20 you will be very uncomfy in an i10. i10 is the cheapest car Hyundai makes so it doesn't have half the comforts of an i20.

Never get a brand new anything. Except if you have too much money and don't know what to do with it all.

First arthritis on a 25 year old and now this. The youth of today. Geez.

Flawed reasoning.
No way. That reasoning is perfectly sound. Buying your first car out of the box at 25 is financial suicide.

Hyundai have good warranties so the mileage isn't critical. Of the two, I'd take the i20 if the year model was within 1 year of the i10. That way you'll still have a fair bit of warranty remaining.

My company hired an i20 for me on my last work visit to Joburg. It was sluggish at altitude, but I really enjoyed the interior actually. This model had Bluetooth etc as well

If you can buy new, do so. You do not want to sit with someone else's problems. There is usually a reason why a car is sold after just 24k km on the clock. Just stay away from Indian or Chinese cars - they have factory built-in problems.

Find a 1.6. The 1.4 is a tad underpowered. The 1.6 is very well specced as well.
