First 'Google phone' to debut

A mobile telephone tailored to run on Google's Android software is to debut next week in New York City.

From what I have seen of Andriod it looks great. Also, people realise the impact it is going to have. Shortly after it was announced the guys over at Symbian pooped their pants and then Symbian went open Nice going Google !

Most of the SDK is proprietary and closed source despite being advertised as 'open source'

ATM all software must be written in Java and you don't have access to the lower level APIs...

Meh, same as the rest of them, just with a different marketing team and better (Closed Source) integration into google services (Gmail, calender, etc...)
