Marathon season is upon us. We’re seeing more marathons, for all imaginable causes, opening up registration for later this year. And you know what that means - time to dust off your Nike+ gear!

The Nike+ sensor allows runners to track their runs, via a sensor embedded in compatible Nike running shoes, on their iPod Nanos. Unfortunately, we’re still waiting on the Nike+ application for our iPhone Nike+ application screenshotsiPhones and iPhone 3Gs.

Ha! I wanna see you 'smartphone' boys have this feature available to you! :p:D

It already exists, just not as feature rich and ofcourse not Nike Branded...
But the Nike app will be cool!:o

Polar watch? And who needs GPS for running? God damm i know where the hell i'm running and where i'll be running to.

It records where you running, the steps you took, the calories burnt etc etc etc. Its a cool app, SE had this in a W710 2 years ago...
Wish I sold the idea to Nike back then ooomph!:o

Also the ipod nano has this excl gps of cuz
Is the ipod nano a smartphone? This doesn't make the iphone any smarter than an ipod nano

Well the acceleromter coupled with the GPS just gives a thorough reading of your excercise, times, distances, speeds etc...

Pretty hard to beat, oh and it does the phone Mp3 thing... Its impressive.

Aiming high there? Mp3 you dont say:rolleyes:
What does the accelerometer have to do with the price of eggs? I agree GPS would make things kwl & accurate but the accelerometer(lol)?

Wow a device that measures speed & distance dont forget it also plays mp3's!!!
Geeks dont jog anyway! Athletes buy better shoes & polar watches not iphones and gimmics

The accelerometer calculates the movement of the body. So you cant cheat and move in a car, bike from one point to another, it measures the running motion.

I think its pretty cool. If you dont then thats your problem its just an app no need to bash it.

it measures the running motion.

thats exactly what i thought... seems cool..

thats what i like about the iPhone - all the hardware is there, now the apps are being made to make use of it - like a pc, it's expandable...

Cool app i'm not bashing it my comments where towards limnos who claimed that its the greatest invention ever on a "smartphone." Just saying its not new and not limited to "smartphones"

well home many phones have an accelerometer?

I should have copied the whole link with the pics.
I think they removed the link...:o

lol!! Don't get too offended next time buddy... You didn't notice my sarcasm and humour? And I really did not claim that its the greatest invention ever... according to you.

I'm just mocking everyone (like you) that is so ANTI the iPhone... Taking my experience from the last 2 threads we had last week!

Geeks dont jog anyway! Athletes buy better shoes & polar watches not iphones and gimmics

lol! I'm sure this is what the developers at Apple/Nike thought when they developed the app... I'm no athlete but I do enjoy a jog once or twice a week.. This app combined with my iPhone will be my perfect tracking tool - not to mention the fact that I can listen to mp3's and take phone calls(not that I would) while i'm around the block...

Please lets not let this be the 3RD thread that's against the iPhone..
