First PS3 Slim local price revealed

Yeah, quoting a Wantitall price isn't very realistic. They are way too over priced, and cater for those people who don't want to know about places with better pricing.
 
The thread title is misleading. That is not local price, that is import price. What we want to know what will the LOCAL price be like? Eg. what will the price be at the shops (Game, Incredible etc)
 
The thread title is bogus. As raser said, that's still import, and who the hell uses wantitall? They singlehandedly win the title of "most ludicrously expensive online retailer evah".
 
i dont reckon we'll see the slim at less than R4000 at first - ye its $299 in America but its also 299euro in Europe and thats where we get our stock isnt it?

Not really, if you consider the Euro pricing. 299euro is about R3300, and that's before shipping, customs and local mark-up.

I think if the slim launches at R3999, and maybe throws in some goodies, it could be a winner. :D
 
Is the slim identical hardware wise to the old one ?
 
The CPU now uses the 45nm process, so it's smaller, and an updated graphics card, which is similar to the old one.
 
Saw the makro ads in the Sunday Times yesterday. Current PS3 stock now going for R3999
