Okay, so moved out of my parents house a while ago into my own place. I have a telkom telephone line and stuff but no broadband. (using my phone as modem, sorry but I just dont see 3g via phone as broadband) So I'm wondering..what product, what where and how to buy proper ADSL? Seeing that I'm already renting a telephone line do I need to rent an ADSL line aswell? Which service provider etc..please ladies and gents give me some advice:confused:

The best ADSL offer available at the moment is Telkom's Do Level 2 broadband - 384K ADSL connection with 2GB international bandwidth (softcap) and 20GB local bandwidth for R258. If you're lucky you may be able to get significantly more than 2GB of international bandwidth every month (sometimes 7~8GB for example). Unfortunately none of the other ISPs can offer anywhere near this amount because Telkom supply their customers at costs well below what they charge the other ISPs. It's possible that Neotel may offer something competitive in the next few weeks but they have still not announced a launch date. With a skeleton of staff, no retail outlets, no confirmed prices or services you may be wasting your time waiting for anything tangible from them. If you don't hear anything concrete from them in the next two weeks then just go ahead and order ADSL. If you decide to change providers at a later date you should be able to sell your router provided that it is a popular brand such as a Netgear or a Billion.

Xdsl offer DSL lines for really good prices, And with a good isp (Axxess).

I pay R144 for my 384K line a month from Xdsl and R179 for my 3GB cap from Axxes = R323.
Still waiting for my Telkom line to sync again after telkom broke it (long story) but i hate telkom more than The idiots that run this country so ill never do anything through them.

It up to you.

Agreed - Telkom Do broadband Level 1 or 2 best value if you already have a phone line. Hands down!
