First year student Willing to work for free

hi ,i am looking for a company or anyone to adopt me into the workplace, i want to be workplace ready when i graduate and waiting for 3rd year to do my internship seems waaay too much to bear.
if you think you have a space for a first year IT student (BSc Informatics and Computer Science at UJ) please take me:p.
 
Where are you based? At bidorbuy we are always looking for people and have an internship programme as well - drop me a mail with CV / intro - cto [at] bidorbuy.co.za - we do pay during internship though (which is in my opinion higher than most other companies).

BTW: If anyone has Android dev experience and wants to work out of Bryanston, please also drop me a CV :-)
 
Just a word of caution, if MagicDude4Eva starts using any city or government websites as "examples" kindly excuse yourself and leave the room :twisted: :p

^^^ One can learn very well from looking at shoddy development practises. All those government websites are a treasure-trove of "how not to develop a secure and fast system" :whistle:

I think the above is an added perk (and we typically interview new staff in a dark room behind a one-way-mirror - so there is no way to run once you rock up for an interview)

But if it was not for ISP's like Crystal Web, we would not be able to sell all those teapots - or anything else :-)

Good luck dude and kudos for willing to go at length.

I did the same thing when I needed prac experience without companies hiring. Offered to work for free and after my first month I was on their payroll.
