Boards like Arduino and Raspberry have really taken off in the hobby (and commercial ) world.
Low cost prototyping, easy coding and affordable components allow users to build a plethora
of robots, robot-arms, cheap laptops etc. As mentioned in the article, the PiMag is filled with
ideas and tutorials and it is free (all copies available as PDF downloads from Issue 1). Also
Instructables.com is an inexhaustible source for Arduino and Raspberry-based projects.
I now own three Raspi boards (Pi3, Pi2 and P0) and a number of Arduinos (Uno, Mini, Sparkfun, etc.)
and am tinkering with autonomous mobile robot-grabbers.
