Hi

i have a pc that once in windows it beeps, single beeps about a second between, it ony beeps in windows not when booting up?

how do i check what it is that is beeping in windows??

Thanks

I'm just trying to think .... doesn't it do that in-Windows-beep when it's a mouse or KB problem? Or is that also beeped in the bios?

no beeps in bios and i already check the keyboard and mouse unplugged them still beeps...

Run msconfig (start run) go to startup tag and untick all items. reboot. If beep stops, run msconfig, tick first item and reboot. repeat until beep starts. The last app is the one beeping. Investigate that app for a problem, or just uninstall it.

Hi Tyerone

Those beeps is because of thermal throttling. Clear dust of fans and heatsink and see if beeps stop.

^ what ronan73 said - check the BIOS under cpu settings too - you can adjust the throttling there, but don't set it too high. A good cleanout using compressed air will do the trick...

Now that it's getting much warmer, you may have to re-think your cooling - my system has 7 in-bound fans and 3 exhaust fans, and it's still running at 32 degrees on idle (61 at full load) - current room temp is 31 degrees... :D

yip it must have been heat issue, oped pc up gave it a good clean and all is good now no more beep, gotta love compressed air... :)
